There are several rule changes in the 2023 season. A main reason for some changes is that the MLB would like to see more stolen bases. After nearly a month of the new season, do MLB players run more this year?

It’s been almost a month since the 2023 season began. Some players have a great start this year. While seeing some hitters’ performances, I was wondering whether they can continually hit well during the regular season. In particular, do they actually hit the ball hard?

Big signing, big upgrade?

In particular, some of them were free agents and signed a new contract with a different team. While seeing these players’ performances, I’m wondering whether some teams made a good decision to ink a big deal with top free agents.

2022 Topps Japan

I used to buy some hobby packs of the 2021 Topps Japan edition. Well, actually, several packs. However, last year, the 2022 Topps Japan edition wasn’t available in the local card shops, which I frequently go to. I was thinking whether I should ask some friends who live in Japan to help me get some packs of the 2022 Topps Japan edition. Nonetheless, in February, I bought some lucky bags online and there was a pack of the 2022 Topps Japan edition. And, I just couldn’t wait to open it.

Hot in WBC, hot in April?

The 2023 regular season started in late March. By far, there are lots of interesting things happening on the field. I was watching some baseball games with friends. On TV, a player was ready to hit. While seeing that player hitting, I also remember that he was playing in the World Baseball Classic. And, I’m thinking about some players who played in the WBC.

90 wins, good?

There’s always a lot to learn in baseball. A few days ago, I was reading a book, which was written by a former manager. In the book, he indicated that, in one season, his team didn’t play well. Well, he didn’t think they played well. However, the team still won 90+ games in that season. While reading the book, I was just thinking about a question.

Lowest BAA by team

Last month, I was reading a book and in the book, the author indicated that, a few years ago, a team clinched a spot in the playoffs. The main reason for that team to clinch a postseason berth was that the team had the lowest BAA in the majors in that season. Batting average might not be a great stat nowadays. However, after reading the book, I was just wondering which teams have had good pitching performance so far.

Just a few days ago, I saw a post on Facebook. The post was about a player’s great performance in the postseason. While seeing the post, I was wondering which players are super dangerous in the postseason this decade.

2022 Topps Allen & Ginter Chrome

Last year, I bought some hobby backs of the 2021 Topps Allen and Ginter Chrome baseball cards. In 2023, the 2022 Topps Allen and Ginter Chrome was released in March. Just a few days after the 2022 Topps Allen and Ginter Chrome was released, I went to a sports card shop to get some hobby packs of this product, trying to see whether I could find something interesting.

Fewer pitchers to throw 100 pitches in a game?

A few days ago, I read a book, which was very interesting. In the book, the author indicated that a pitcher was pulled in a postseason game and he just threw fewer than 80 pitches. He mentioned some changes in baseball. While reading the book, I think about pitcher usage in today’s baseball games.

30 starts

The 2023 regular season has just begun. A couple of days ago, I was watching a game on TV, and on the mound, it was a great pitcher who made 30+ starts last season. The MLB teams have different methods to use pitchers these years and I began to wonder whether there are actually fewer pitchers who made 30+ starts these years.

2022 Topps Chrome Sonic

2022 Topps Chrome Sonic is another product from the Topps Chrome set. This product was released in February 2023. In early March, I passed by a sports card shop and saw this product. It’s the first time that I saw this product and I decided to give it a try.
