Too early?

A few years ago, there was a rumor that indicated that a pitcher was looking for an opportunity in Asia. In the end, it showed that the pitcher might be Dontrelle Willis. Well, I don’t know if the rumor was correct. However, a couple of weeks ago, I got a baseball card with an autograph of Dontrelle Willis. On the front, we can see the photos of two other pitchers from the Cubs.

A few weeks ago, a friend shared an article in a group. It’s an article that was published several years ago. The article is mainly about the Dodgers’ All-Star Justin Turner and his swing. Turner indicated that Marlon Byrd was one to credit for his swing.

Maddux then & now

Last December, I was browsing on an online sports card shop and found that there were some lucky bags, which contained autographed cards or relic cards. I was just thinking that it could be fun to buy some packs. When I opened a lucky bag, I saw a relic card with two pieces of jerseys worn by Hall of Famer Greg Maddux.

In mid-December, I bought some packs of baseball cards at an online shop. When I opened those packs, I found a very interesting card. On the front, we can see Hall of Famer Roberto Alomar and two-time MVP Juan Gonzalez. Additionally, there’s a piece of game-used baseball. I didn’t have this type of baseball card and I’m glad to have it in my collection. However, I didn’t remember too much about Juan Gonzalez’s performance in the Indians uniform.

Most difficult to hit?

 

When I watched some videos on YouTube, some videos of pitching performances were shown as YouTube recommendations. While watching those videos, I was thinking of the most difficult pitches to hit in the majors.

We got Manny

A few weeks ago, I was browsing on Instagram and tried to see if there’s something interesting. And, I saw a video that Manny Ramirez in the Dodgers uniform crushed a home run. While seeing Manny Ramirez with the Dodgers jersey, I was just thinking about the 3-team trade that sent Manny to the Dodgers. Is it a win-win trade for all three teams?

Ejections

The New York Mets introduced Buck Showalter, who won Manager of the Year three times, as the new manager. I was quite interested in his managerial record and went to check on the great baseball reference website. In his managerial career, he has already led four teams and won more than 1500 games. However, another stat truly drew my interest.

Love to swing at their first pitches?

Some players don’t want to waste time and they love to swing at first pitches. For example, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. crushed 16 first-pitch home runs in 2021. However, I would like to have a different way of thinking. Whose first pitches were most attractive to swing last year?

It’s the first week of January. Normally, pitchers and catchers are expected to report to camp in a few weeks. However, we still don’t know whether the 2022 spring training will begin on time. But, what we know is that there are several top players who still haven’t signed a deal yet.

Last month, a friend shared a Max Scherzer rookie card in a group. Back then, Scherzer was in the Diamondbacks uniform. In the 2006 MLB draft, Scherzer was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the first round. That makes me think of a key thing. Are those players, who were selected by the D-backs in the first round of the MLB draft, playing well in the big league? Did the team select the right players?

95 mph? No problem

A few days ago, I was watching some highlights of the 2021 season. A pitcher threw several pitches that reached 95 mph against a batter, however, the batter seemed to be pretty comfortable at bat. And, I was just thinking which batters were really good at hitting pitches with 95+ mph.
