2021 Topps Stadium Club Chrome

Topps Stadium Club offers collectors a great set of baseball cards with high-quality images. Topps Stadium Club Chrome is an even colorful choice for collectors. On-card autographs can be found in this set. Normally, each hobby contains one on-card autograph.

A few weeks ago, I went to a card shop and thought that perhaps, buying some packs of 2021 Topps Stadium Club Chrome was not a bad idea. Thus, I bought some packs and tried to find some cool rookie cards. Well, I got a Jonathan India rookie card, which is really good. Jonathan India won the 2021 NL Rookie of the Year award. Moreover, I found a Marcus Stroman baseball card. That card made me think of one thing.

Marcus Stroman decided to opt out of the 2020 season. And, I was thinking whether those players, who opted out in 2020, played well in the 2021 season.

First of all, Stroman didn’t play in 2020. He returned to the Mets in 2021 and made 33 starts, most in the Mets rotation. Marcus Stroman led the Mets with 179 innings and finished the 2021 season with a 3.02 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. During the regular season, opponents hit .242 against Stroman. Opting out of the 2020 season doesn’t seem to be an issue for Stroman and he had a pretty good 2021 season. Last December, Stroman and the Cubs agreed to a three-year deal.

Moreover, Buster Posey slashed .257/.320/.368 with 7 home runs and 38 RBI in 2019. Posey chose to opt out to help take care of his children. In 2021, he came back stronger. Posey batted .304/.390/.499 with 18 home runs and 56 RBI. He was selected to the All-Star game again. Furthermore, he was named the 2021 NL Comeback Player of the Year. After the 2021 season, Posey decided to retire at age 34.

Before the 2020 season, David Price and Mookie Betts were traded to the Dodgers. Mookie Betts had a great 2020 season with a .292/.366/.562 slash line. Additionally, Betts hit well in the 2020 postseason with a .296/.378/.493 slash line and he crushed 2 home runs. Eventually, the Dodgers won the World Series for the first time since 1988. However, David Price didn’t play in 2020. In 2021, Price returned to the Dodgers and his main role was a reliever. Price made 11 starts and 28 relief appearances last season. He owned a 4.03 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. The Dodgers won more than 100 games in 2021 and clinched a Wild Card spot. However, Price didn’t have any appearances last postseason.

In addition, Ryan Zimmerman was hitting .257/.321/.415 with 6 home runs and 27 RBI in 2019. After opting out in 2020, he came back in 2021 and batted .243/.286/.471 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI. Moreover, Joe Ross didn’t pitch in 2020. In 2019, he had a 5.48 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP. Last season, he was back to the Nationals and finished the season with a 4.17 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP over 108 innings.

After opting out in 2020, most players came back to play in 2021. Nonetheless, some players chose to sit out again. For example, Ian Desmond and Mike Leake didn’t return last season.

The Covid-19 pandemic has huge impacts on our life and it has dramatically changed the world of sports. In particular, it has influenced many players’ careers. Some players decided not to play. Some prospects missed one year or two years of development. Some players even had to find jobs away from the game for living.
