Hottest hitter in June?


June just came to an end and the first half of the regular season is almost coming to an end. In June, several players had a great month and it’ll be worth watching whether they will stay hot in the coming months.

In June, 4 players each blasted 10+ home runs. Kyle Schwarber slashed .272/.385/.680 with 12 HRs and 27 RBI. Well, the Detroit Tigers only hit 13 home runs in June. You know how hot Schwarber was in June. Meanwhile, Aaron Judge crushed 11 home runs in June and now he is leading the majors with 29 home runs. Moreover, another Bronx bomber Anthony Rizzo blasted 10 home runs last month. Additionally, Mike Trout went deep 10 times in June. The three-time MVP is now hitting .285/.387/.650 with 23 home runs and 47 RBI.


At the same time, Pete Alonso, Yordan Alvarez, Byron Buxton and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. each crushed 9 homers in June.

Yordan Alvarez crushed 9 homers and collected 28 RBI in June. He was hitting excellently with a .418/.510/.835 slash line. Moreover, Jake Cronenworth had 24 RBI and Luke Voit collected 23 RBI last month. Fernando Tatis Jr. hasn’t played any games for the Padres this season and Manny Machado missed some playing time in June due to the ankle injury. But, Cronenworth and Voit have been hitting well to help the Padres score more runs. The Padres lineup shall be even more dangerous when Tatis Jr. is back.


Additionally, Austin Hays had a .250/.284/.510 slash line in June. He blasted 6 homers and had 23 RBI.


In total, there were 14 players who had 20+ RBI in June.

Amed Rosario had a fantastic June, slashing .360/.378/.509 with 2 home runs and 12 RBI. He might not hit so many home runs, but he’s the only player with 40+ hits in June. At the same time, the 2020 AL MVP Jose Abreu had 37 hits in June and he was hitting .346/.431/.533 with 4 home runs and 15 RBI.

 

In the National League, Dansby Swanson, who was the first overall pick in the 2015 MLB draft, had a great June and led the NL with 37 hits. It’s his 7th season in the majors and he will become a free agent after this season. Swanson has been hitting well so far this season with a .292/.353/.483 slash line.


Furthermore, 4 players each had 35 hits in June and they each posted a batting average over .300. In particular, Michael Harris II just made his MLB debut in late May and he enjoyed a great June with a .347/.371/.572 with 4 home runs and 16 RBI.

Finally, let’s look at OPS. Yordan Alvarez led the majors with an OPS of 1.345 in June. With 9 home runs and 28 RBI, he was surely one of the hottest hitters in the majors last month. Furthermore, in the National League, Josh Bell was hitting .358/.447/.695 with 7 home runs and 18 RBI over 27 games in June. Well, Bryce Harper is currently on the IL, but before being placed on the IL, he had an OPS of 1.096 last month. Meanwhile, take a look at Alejandro Kirk, his OPS of 1.086 in June was so great and his OPS was even higher than Mike Trout’s OPS of 1.036.
