Shine at Dodger stadium

The Dodgers hold the 2022 MLB All-Star game and six Dodgers players are selected to the Midsummer Classic. The Dodgers fans must be extremely excited to watch the All-Star game at Dodger stadium. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are currently leading in the NL West. Looking back at the Dodgers’ performance since 2000, there were only two times that the team didn’t finish a season with a winning percentage of .500 or higher.

However, looking back at these two seasons, the Dodgers didn’t come away empty. In 2005, the Dodgers finished the season with 71 wins and 91 losses. It’s the worst record of the Dodgers over the last 22 seasons. The Dodgers were the 4th in the division and of course, they didn’t clinch a playoff berth. Additionally, the Dodgers GM Paul DePodesta was fired in October. The Dodgers didn’t play well in 2005, but they got the 7th overall pick in the 2006 draft. What did the Dodgers do with the 7th overall pick in 2006? Well, the Dodgers selected Clayton Kershaw from Highland Park High School in 2006. Kershaw just passed Hall of Famer Don Sutton for the most career strikeouts in Dodgers franchise history in April. By far in his career, Kershaw already won three Cy Young awards and one NL MVP award. The other season that the Dodgers didn’t have a winning season was in 2010. The Dodgers won 80 games but took 82 losses in 2010, finishing 4th in the NL West. Manager Joe Torre retired after this season. However, Clayton Kershaw earned 13 wins in 2010 and it was his first season to record 10+ wins. Additionally, Kenley Jansen made his MLB debut on July 24, 2010 and Jansen later became the Dodgers All-Time saves leader. In the 2010 MLB draft, the Dodgers selected Zach Lee in the first round and picked Joc Pederson in the 11th round. Zach Lee only tossed 4.2 innings for the Dodgers, but the Dodgers traded him to the Mariners and acquired Chris Taylor, who later became an All-Star. Furthermore, Joc Pederson was selected to the All-Star game in 2015 and he crushed 9 home runs for the Dodgers in the postseason, in particular, he blasted 3 home runs in the 2017 World Series. In baseball, there are always ups and downs. The Dodgers didn’t have a winning season in 2005 and 2010, but they did get something important. The Dodgers had a 91-loss season in 2005, but they got the 7th pick in the 2006 draft. They selected Clayton Kershaw, who will surely be inducted to the Hall of Fame. In 2010, despite the 82-loss season, Clayton Kershaw gradually became the ace of the franchise and Kenley Jansen began his journey to become one of the best closers. Additionally, they selected Joc Pederson, who spent 7 seasons with the Dodgers and crushed 130 home runs. Over the last 22 seasons, the Dodgers clinched a playoff berth 13 times and there were 3 seasons with 100+ wins. In particular, they won the NL pennant 3 times and won the World Series title in 2020. The first half of the 2022 season is over and after the Midsummer Classic, are we going to see the 2022 World Series at Dodger stadium?
