2022 Bowman Platinum

Last year, I bought a blaster box of the 2021 Topps Bowman Platinum and it was the first time that I purchased this product. In January, I saw that the 2022 Bowman Platinum was available on Walmart website and thought that it might be fun to open a blaster box of this product.

I ordered it on Walmart.com and it arrived earlier than expected. Again, well, all I wanted is to get some cool rookie cards.

Let’s see what I got.

Base cards (12): Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Matt Chapman, Nick Madrigal, Rafael Devers, Ke’Bryan Hayes, Nolan Arenado, Salvador Perez, Ketel Marte, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Ryan Mountcastle, Dansby Swanson

Rookie Cards (8): CJ Abrams, Jarren Duran, Gavin Sheets, MacKenzie Gore, Tylor Megill, Nick Plummer, Cal Raleigh, Elehuris Montero

Top Prospects (8): Cristian Hernandez, Cristian Santana, Michael McGreevy, Reginald Preciado, Brandon Valenzuela, Spencer Schwellenbach, George Valera, Will Bednar

Ice Foils (4): Rafael Devers, Dansby Swanson, Pedro Pineda, Frank Mozzicato
Precious Elements (1): Gunnar Henderson

Renowned Rookies (1): Wander Franco

Minted In Merit (1): Royce Lewis (RC)

Top Prospects Autographs (1): Adael Amador

The result of opening a blaster box of the 2022 Topps Bowman Platinum was not bad.

I got some cool cards. A Gunnar Henderson insert is my first Gunnar Henderson card. He just made it into the big leagues last August, hitting .259/.348/.440 with 4 home runs and 18 RBI in 34 games. He was named MLB Pipeline’s No.1 prospect. In the 2023 season, it will be truly exciting to see him have more plate appearances in the majors and he’s still eligible for the Rookie of the Year award. Meanwhile, a Wander Franco renowned rookies insert and a Royce Lewis minted merit insert are also pretty cool. Wander Franco was a top prospect, but last year, he missed some playing time due to injuries. I truly hope to see him stay healthy and play 150+ games for the Rays this season. Moreover, Royce Lewis was the first overall pick in the 2017 draft and he made his MLB debut last May. Lewis slashed .300/.317/.550 with 2 home runs and 5 RBI in12 games. It will be worthwhile to see what he will perform in the 2023 season. In addition, there’s a hit in this blaster box. Last year, I didn’t get a hit from a blaster box of the 2021 Bowman Platinum. This time, I’m quite excited to see an autograph card in a blaster box even though it’s a sticker auto. It was pretty fun to open a blaster box of the 2022 Bowman Platinum. I got some cool rookie cards such as a Wander Franco rookie card and Gunnar Henderson insert. Furthermore, it’s not easy to get an autograph card in a blaster box. An Adael Amador autograph card isn’t bad. Amador is a top prospect in the Rockies farm system. He’s only 19 years old now. It will probably take some years for him to make it into the big leagues, let’s just wait and see how things develop.
