Kyle Lewis’ rookie card

Topps Allen & Ginter is not only about baseball, but also about pop culture. Thus, you will not only find baseball players in the Topps A&G, but also “celebrities” such as soccer players, TV Hosts, actors and so on. Meanwhile, the most entertaining thing in Topps A&G is rip cards. "To rip or not to rip" is always the most difficult decision for card collectors. Also, mini cards are available in hobby packs.

I bought several packs of 2020 Topps A&G and luckily, I got a Kyle Lewis rookie card. He’s indeed one of the Rookie of the Year favorites.

Jake Cronenworth was named the National League's rookie of the month (08/2020) and has had an exceptional rookie season. He’s indeed a versatile player and he played all four infield positions this season. Cronenworth collected 22 extra base hits, leading all MLB rookies. He’s surely a favorite of the NL Rookie of the Year.

Alec Bohm made his MLB debut on August 13. He collected 15 extra base hits in 44 games. The Philadelphia Phillies failed to clinch a playoff berth, but it will definitely be worth watching Alec Bohm in the 2021 season.

When we look at OPS, Luis Robert is not in the top 10 among all qualified rookies. Luis Robert is hitting just .136/.237/.173 in September and his OPS is only .409. Kyle Lewis’ OPS is .550 in September and is batting .147/.270/.280. They somehow hit the rookie wall in September.

Ke’Bryan Hayes was called up in September. In his first month as a Pirate, he hit .376/.442/.682 and has 5 home runs.

Willi Castro from the Detroit Tigers played 30 games last season and was hitting .230/.284/.340. He was called up from the alternate site in August and hit .349/.381/550. His OPS was .624 last year and this season he posted an OPS of .932. Castro also crushed 6 homers.

Ryan Mountcastle was called up in late August and he seized the opportunity. In 35 games, he hit .333/.386/.492 and posted a good .878 OPS.

Oakland A’s catcher Sean Murphy crushed 7 home runs in the 2020 season and posted an .821 OPS, his hard-hit rate of 48.7% is the third best among MLB catchers.

The 2020 season is truly a season worth remembering. Several players decided to opt out and we also saw that several rookies had shown their potential in this shortened season. Kyle Lewis and Luis Robert are both favorites of the AL Rookie of the year, however, they both cooled down in September. How will the writers vote? Meanwhile, in a 162-game regular season, how will they perform?
