We are near the end of the second month of the 2022 season. Each team has played around 20 home games. This season, some players truly love to play at home because they have been hitting very well.
So, let’s see which players enjoy hitting at home.
The Angels fans must be really excited to see a healthy Mike Trout. Due to injury, he only played 36 games last season. By far this season, Mike Trout bats .323/.434/.699 with 12 home runs and 26 RBI. Trout’s OPS is 1.349 in home games and in away games, Trout’s OPS is .896, which is not bad. In the National League, we might say that Manny Machado is the most dangerous hitter. Machado currently has a 1.065 OPS, leading the NL. In home games, Machado is hitting .433/.514/.733 with 5 home runs and 11 RBI. At the same time, C.J. Cron’s OPS is 1.189 at Coors Field, however, his OPS is .654 in away games. We can see the huge difference. Furthermore, Rowdy Tellez’s OPS is over 1.100 in home games, but his OPS is under .600 in away games. Meanwhile, Brandon Drury’s OPS is 1.118 at Great American Ball Park, but his OPS is .665 in away games.
If Byron Buxton is healthy, he’s a player that draws a lot of attention. Last season, he only played 61 games and hit .306/.358/.647 with 19 home runs and 32 RBI. By far, Buxton is hitting .228/.313/.604 with 11 home runs and 21 RBI. In particular, he has 9 HRs in home games and he owns an OPS over 1.000 at home. In addition, C.J. Cron already crushed 9 home runs at Coors Field. Mike Trout only had 8 HRs last season, but so far this season, he already crushed 8 home runs in 21 games at Angel Stadium. In the meantime, Corey Seager has 8 home runs in home games. Corey Seager inked a 10-year deal with the Rangers right before the lockout last year. By far, Seager hits .245/.315/.430 with 8 home runs and 19 RBI. Nonetheless, he only slashes .208/.247/.250 in away games. He’s still looking for the first home run in away games. Furthermore, Anthony Rizzo and Aaron Judge each smashed 7 HRs at Yankee Stadium thus far.
By far, C.J. Cron has collected 26 RBI at Coors Field. Trevor Story didn’t blast any home runs in April and his first home run with the Red Sox just came in mid-May. Additionally, he just crushed 6 home runs at Fenway Park last week. Is he going to heat up and show his power? Story has collected 22 RBI at Fenway Park thus far. In the meantime, Adolis Garcia, Ryan McMahon and Rowdy Tellez each have collected 20+ RBI in home games. Adolis Garcia has 21 RBI and an OPS over .800 in home games, nonetheless, his OPS is under .500 in away games.
Mike Trout is just doing as he always does. He’s hitting extremely well at Angel Stadium this year. Additionally, for some players, playing at home is surely more ideal. Corey Seager enjoys playing in his new home, Globe Life Field since he already crushed 8 home runs in 21 games. C.J. Cron had an OPS over 1.000 at Coors Field last season and this season, he stays productive at home.
