I watched an interview on X. A batter just had done a great job at Chase Field with 4 hits in a game. In the interview, he was asked if he knew that his career stats are pretty good when he visits Chase Field.
The batter certainly knows that he has hit well against the D-backs at Chase Field. After watching the interview, I was just wondering which batters did the same as that batter. To solve my doubts, I decided to check on the statcast website.
In 2020, Starling Marte played for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Back then, he played 33 games for the D-backs and owned an OPS over .800. However, he was traded to the Marlins at the end of August. Marte made his MLB debut in 2012. The first time that he visited Chase Field was in 2013. From 2013 to 2024, he collected 38 hits against the D-backs at this ballpark and had a batting average over .380.
In addition, the 2024 World Series MVP Freddie Freeman certainly likes to hit at Chase Field. Freeman made his MLB debut in 2010. The first time that he visited Chase Field was in 2011. From 2011 to 2024, Freeman collected 84 hits at Chase Field and had a batting average over .370. In particular, Freeman blasted 4 home runs at Chase Field last season.
Moreover, Jose Reyes played in the majors from 2003 to 2018. In his career, he owned a batting average of .348 and an OPS of .912 at Chase Field. From 2008 to 2018, he collected 37 hits at this ballpark and had a batting average of .370.
Furthermore, Evan Longoria officially retired with the Rays. He surely played an important role in franchise history. He made his MLB debut in 2008 and the last time that he played in the majors was in 2023. Back in 2023, he played for the D-backs. The first time that Longoria visited Chase Field was in 2013. From 2013 to 2022, Longoria had 37 hits at Chase Field and his batting average was over .350. Well, he actually did hit well against the D-backs at this ballpark.
Finally, Yadier Molina made it into the big leagues in 2004 and retired after the 2022 season. In his great career, his batting average was over .300 at Chase Field. From 2008 to 2022, Molina collected 52 hits and had a .356 batting average at this ballpark. Additionally, Jose Altuve had a batting average of .345 from 2011 to 2023 at this ballpark and Josh Harrison owned a .344 BA at Chase Field.
So, over the last several seasons, Starling Marte and Freddie Freeman certainly had caused many troubles for the D-backs pitchers. When they visit Chase Field, the D-backs pitchers will have to work hard to face them. In particular, now Freddie Freeman is playing for the Dodgers and the D-backs pitchers will have to face him many times during the regular season. Additionally, Jose Reyes, Evan Longoria and Yadier Molina did enjoy hitting at this ballpark when they came to Arizona.
