After being traded

A few days ago, we reviewed some pitchers’ performances after being traded to a new team. This time, let’s shift our focus on position players. Several position players were sent to a new team and let’s see if they have done a great job in a new uniform.

Firstly, Adley Rutschman was the first overall pick in the 2019 draft. He was selected to the 2026 All-Star game. In 2026, he played 67 games for the Orioles, hitting .251/.331/.433 with 8 home runs and 47 RBI. In August, he was sent to the Red Sox. In the Red Sox uniform, Rutschman hits .180/.254/.344 with 3 home runs and 6 RBI in 17 games. Meanwhile, the Orioles sent Taylor Ward to the Mariners. Ward played 111 games for the Orioles in 2026. He hit .246/.383/.346 with 7 home runs and 30 RBI. After being traded to the Mariners, he bats .105/.200/.132 with 4 RBI in 23 games.

Moreover, Luis Arraez was traded from the Giants to the Phillies. In 2026, Arraez played 105 games for the Giants, hitting .324/.360/.440 with 4 home runs and 43 RBI. After being traded to the Phillies, Arraez now slashes. 296/.308/.400 with 2 home runs and 13 RBI over 29 games.

In addition, Luis Garcia Jr. was sent from the Nationals to the Yankees. He played 104 games for the Nationals in 2026 and slashed .283/.313/.560 with 23 home runs and 76 RBI. In the pinstripes, Luis Garcia Jr. now hits .287/.330/.485 with 5 home runs and 12 RBI over 28 games. At the same time, Heliot Ramos was traded to the Yankees as well. Well, looking at these trades, it seems that Luis Arraez and Luis Garcia Jr. don’t have problems in the new teams. Arraez consistently collects hits and Luis Garica Jr. has an OPS over .800 thus far as a Yankee. Furthermore, Lars Nootbaar has an OPS over .770 in the D-backs uniform. Previously, his OPS was below .700 while playing for the Cardinals. And Adell’s OPS as a Guardian is higher than his OPS in the Angels uniform. For other players, it will be worthwhile to see if they can contribute more to their new teams in the rest of the season. In particular, can they help their teams to clinch a spot in the postseason?
