The 2026 season has already come to an end. It’s certainly a season with a lot of excitement. However, for the Dodgers, they couldn’t become the first team from the National League to win 3 straight World Series titles. Nonetheless, they won 100 games in the 2026 season.
While looking back at this season, I’m just thinking about the results of those seasons that the Dodgers won at least 100 games. There are several times that the Dodgers finished a season with 100+ wins after they moved to Los Angeles. And let’s see what happened.
The first time that the Los Angeles Dodgers finished a season with 100+ wins was in 1962. They got 102 wins and finished 2nd in the National League. Nevertheless, they didn’t clinch a spot in the postseason. Back in 1962, there was the World Series only in the postseason.
Moreover, in 1974, the Dodgers won 102 games in the regular season. In the NLCS, they defeated the Pirates. But they lost to the Oakland Athletics in the World Series.
It truly took a while to see the Dodgers win 100+ games in a single season again. It came in 2017. The Dodgers won 104 games in the 2017 season. They finished first in the NL West. They beat the D-backs in the NLDS and defeated the Cubs in the NLCS. Nonetheless, we all knew what happened in the 2017 World Series. 2 years later, the Dodgers won 106 games. In the 2019 season, they finished 1st in the NL West. However, in the NLDS, they lost to the Nationals in 5 games.
In addition, from 2021 to 2023, the Dodgers finished 3 consecutive seasons with 100+ wins. In the 2021 season, the Dodgers won 106 games. They finished 2nd in the NL West. In the postseason, the Dodgers beat the Cardinals in the NL Wild Card game. In the NLDS, the Dodgers defeated the Giants in 5 games. Nonetheless, in the NLCS, they lost to the Braves. The next season, the Dodgers got 111 wins, which is the franchise record. But unfortunately, they lost to the Padres in the NLDS. In 2023, the Dodgers won 100 games in the regular season. But again, they fell in the NLDS. This time, they lost to the D-backs.
Finally, this year, the Dodgers won 100 games. In the NLDS, the Dodgers beat the Braves. Nevertheless, in the NLCS, the Brewers swept the Dodgers.
Looking at these 8 times that the Los Angeles Dodgers finished a season with 100+ wins, there were 2 times that they lost in the World Series, there were 2 times that they lost in the NLCS and there were 3 times that they didn’t win the NLDS. So, the Dodgers haven’t won a World Series title in the season that they got 100+ wins. Nonetheless, among those 8 seasons with 100+ wins, there are 6 times which happened in these 10 seasons. It’s clear that the Dodgers have frequently won 100+ games in a season. Perhaps, in the coming seasons, things will move forward.
