2021 Topps Gallery

Topps Gallery is an interesting set for me to collect. I did buy some packs of 2019 Topps Gallery. Additionally, I bought several hobby packs of the 2020 Topps Gallery and I used to open a Mega box of the 2020 Topps Gallery. The 2021 Topps Gallery was released last December.

However, over the last few months, I didn’t see this product in the sports card shops nearby. Nonetheless, last month, I was walking on the street and saw a new sports card shop. In the shop, there are a lot of basketball cards available. Nevertheless, a blaster box of the 2021 Topps Gallery truly captured my attention.

I was thinking about getting some packs of 2021 Topps Gallery for a while. Eventually, I saw a blaster box available. I didn’t hesitate to buy a box because the price was reasonable.
In a blaster box, there are 7 packs and each pack has 4 cards. So, let’s see whether I got something interesting.

Base cards: Mookie Betts, Miguel Cabrera, Albert Pujols, Mariano Rivera, Bob Gibson, Stephen Strasburg, Reggie Jackson, Paul Goldschmidt, Nelson Cruz, Kirby Puckett, Aaron Nola

Rookie Cards (3): Daniel Lynch, Bobby Dalbec, Deivi Garcia

Rainbow Foil (2): Manny Ramirez, Derek Jeter

Printer Proof (4): Cristian Pache (RC), Kyle Lewis, Giancarlo Stanton, Willie Mays

Modern Artists (1): Mike Trout

Masters of the Craft (1): Freddie Freeman
Beside these cards, I found something “weird.” I said “something weird” because I didn’t see any related information on the checklist.

Error?/Printing Error?/No Name? (6): Manny Ramirez, Javier Baez, Jose Altuve, Hank Aaron, Francisco Lindor, David Wright
As you can clearly see, on the front of these cards, you don’t see a logo or a player’s name. So, I just simply call it “Error” card. Well, I really don’t know whether these cards are common. Additionally, there’s no information on the pack. Normally, I can check the approximate odds per pack of findings. Nonetheless, there’s really no information about “Error/No name card”. That’s something interesting while opening some packs of baseball cards. There might be something unexpected. I don’t really know if those “Error/No name” cards are very rare. But, it’s nice to have those cards. But, is opening a blaster box of Topps Gallery a great idea?
Well, I would say it truly depends on what you like. Normally, in a mega box, there are 20 packs and each pack has 5 cards. At the same time, the most important thing is that there are two autograph cards guaranteed in a mega box. If you really want to get some autograph cards, it would be much better to buy a mega box. However, for me, the only choice was to get a blaster box or not. Hence, I decided to get a blaster box and I didn’t expect too much. I just wanted to check whether I can get some cool cards, in particular, some cool rookie cards. Nonetheless, those “Error/No name” cards are not bad to have and I will surely keep them. Moreover, it seems that the design of the 2021 Topps Gallery is much better than the design of the 2020 Topps Gallery.
