2022 Topps Archives Blaster

Well, I made a mistake a few weeks ago. A huge mistake. I was looking for the 2022 Topps Archives, however, I ordered a blaster box of the 2020 Topps Archives by accident.

For me, Topps Archives is one of my favorite brands to collect. Each year, collectors can find baseball cards that highlight multiple designs of the past. It’s quite interesting to see different designs in this set. Furthermore, it showcased past stars and present stars. Previously, I bought several hobby packs of Topps Archives. This time, I just tried something different. I bought a blaster box of the 2022 Topps Archives.

In total, there are 7 packs in a 2022 Topps Archives blaster box. Let’s see what I got.

Base cards: Babe Ruth, Mark McGwire, Mitch Haniger, Cedric Mullins, Giancarlo Stanton, Andrew Benintendi, Kenta Maeda, Craig Biggio, Chris Sale, Nico Hoerner, Kyle Lewis, Greg Maddux, Jed Lowrie, Trea Turner, Trevor Rogers, Chris Bassitt, Fernando Tatis Jr., Derek Jeter, Bryan Reynolds, Roger Maris, Kyle Schwarber, Corbin Burnes, Monte Irvin, Brandon Lowe, Nick Madrigal, Tim Anderson, Eddie Murray, Tyler O’Neill, Pee Wee Reese, Starling Marte, Xander Bogaerts, Kyle Tucker, Salvador Perez, David Wright, Thurman Munson, Jarred Kelenic, Bryce Harper, Jim Palmer, Larry Doby, Don Drysdale, Willy Adames, Sonny Gray, Nathaniel Lowe

Rookie Cards (8): Kyle Muller, Aaron Ashby, Josiah Gray, MacKenzie Gore, Luis Frias, Brandon Marsh, Josh Lowe, Elehuris Montero

1955 Topps Scoop: Javier Baez

1961 Topps MVP: Nelson Cruz
1992 Topps Major League Debut: Jackie Robinson

1988 Topps Big Foil (3): Chipper Jones, Buster Posey, Reggie Jackson

Topps Postcards: Rafael Devers

Red Hot Foil (1): Jackie Robinson (/50)

I expected to get some cool rookie cards in this box, for example, a Julio Rodriguez rookie card or a Wander Franco rookie card. Getting a cool rookie card is always a top priority for me. Nonetheless, this time, I didn’t find any rookie cards that I was looking for.
In addition, I didn’t find any hits in this box. The best card in this blaster box is a Jackie Robinson red hot foil card, which is numbered to 50. I checked the approximate odds per pack of finding, this is what is shown on the blaster box, Red Hot Foil 1:207
The result of opening this blaster box isn’t that bad. For me, at least I got a numbered card. It’s a low-numbered card, so it’s not bad. Moreover, Jackie Robinson’s story truly inspired people generation by generation. Nevertheless, I would probably not get a blaster box of the 2022 Topps Archives again. I will visit some card shops to see whether there are some hobby packs available. Hopefully, I can get some cool rookie cards from this set soon.
