Best DH now?

David Ortiz was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in January. Ortiz is the all-time DH leader in HR and RBI. He played 20 seasons in the majors and hit .286/.380/.552 with 541 home runs and 1768 RBI in his career. Additionally, he’s a 10-time All-Star. Ortiz won the World Series Champions with the Red Sox three times. He definitely had a legendary career. And, I’m just wondering who’s the best DH after David Ortiz retired.

Bases loaded

A few months ago, I listened to a podcast show and a reporter indicated that a team did a great job when bases were loaded last year. Looking back at the 2021 season, some teams did perform very well when bases were loaded. Additionally, some players did collect many RBI with the bases loaded.

What do you throw?

A full count is an interesting moment to watch in baseball games and is considered a moment of increased tension. A pitcher has to do his best to throw a pitch to end an at bat.

2013 Bowman Chrome

Last month, I went to a sports card shop that I haven’t been to for more than 10 years. It was a card shop in a mall. When I was in college, I went to that card shop several times and bought some packs of baseball cards. When I entered the shop, so many old memories came out. There are so many changes over the last 10+ years and so many changes in the sports card industry. However, I’m so glad that the card shop is still there.

Most singles

A few weeks ago, I just browsed something on Facebook and randomly, I saw a video, which was Ichiro’s journey to break the single season hit record in 2004. On October 1, 2004, Ichiro singled for his 258th hit of the season. That hit made me think whether Ichiro is the record holder for the most singles in a single season.

Huge miss?

A couple of weeks ago, I was watching some highlights. A pitcher wasn’t afraid to throw strikes in the middle of the strike zone and opponents couldn’t hit well against him. And, I was just wondering whether some hitters did miss some key opportunities while being at bat.

Where are they going?

It’s mid-February. Pitchers and catchers are supposed to report this week. However, MLB owners and the MLBPA still remain apart on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement. We still don’t know when the 2022 spring training will start. And, it will probably take a while to see two parties reach a new agreement. Moreover, some star position players are still unsigned and it will be interesting to see where they will go.

2021 Topps Japan Edition

There are usually not so many interesting sets of baseball cards released in January. Last Month, I went to a card shop and saw that some packs of the 2021 Topps Japan Edition were still there. Previously, I hadn't seen this set before. When I saw this series in the shop, I was thinking that perhaps, buying some packs could be fun.
