It’s been almost a month since the 2025 trade deadline. Before the trade deadline, several teams decided to acquire hitters to enhance the lineup depth. Do those trades make an instant impact?
Let’s take a quick look at those players’ performances after being traded.
Firstly, Carlos Correa was traded from the Twins to the Astros. He’s back to the Astros. In 2025, Carlos Correa played 93 games for the Twins, hitting .267/.319/.386 with 7 home runs and 31 RBI. After reuniting with the Astros, he hits .338/.391/.488 with 3 home runs and 12 RBI in 20 games.
Also in the AL West, the Mariners acquired Eugenio Suarez from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Suarez played 106 games for the D-backs in 2025, slashing .248/.320/.576 with 36 home runs and 87 RBI. After being traded to the Mariners, Suarez has played 21 games, hitting .179/.226/.385 with 4 home runs and 11 RBI. Additionally, the Mariners got Josh Naylor from the D-backs, yes, the D-backs and the Mariners are good trade partners this summer. Josh Naylor played 93 games for the D-backs in 2025. He slashed .292/.360/.447 with 11 home runs and 59 RBI in the D-backs uniform. After being traded to the Mariners, Naylor bats .244/.299/.456 with 5 home runs and 11 RBI in 25 games.
In addition, the Padres acquired Ryan O'Hearn and Ramón Laureano from the Orioles. O’Hearn played 94 games for the Orioles in 2025, hitting .283/.374/.463 with 13 home runs and 43 RBI. In the meantime, Ramon Laureano played 82 games for the Orioles this season. He slashed .290/.355/.529 with 15 home runs and 46 RBI. After joining the Padres, Laureano has played 21 games, hitting .338/.393/.584 with 4 home runs and 15 RBI. O’Hearn now hits .275/.387/.490 with 3 home run and 10 RBI over 19 games in the Padres uniform.
Finally, the Yankees acquired Ryan McMahon from the Rockies. McMahon played 100 games for the Rockies this season. He slashed .217/.314/.403 with 16 home runs and 35 RBI. In the Yankees pinstripes, McMahon has played 24 games, hitting .219/.326/.315 with 1 home run and 8 RBI. And the Phillies got Harrison Bader from the Twins. Bader played 96 games for the Twins in 2025, hitting .258/.339/.439 with 12 home runs and 38 RBI. As a Phillie, he now bats .240/.328/.340 with 1 HR and 4 RBI over 17 games. Cedric Mullins was sent to NL East as well. Mullins played 91 games for the Orioles in 2025, hitting .229/.305/.433 with 15 home runs and 49 RBI. He was traded to the Mets and now, he hits .234/.315/.375 with 1 home run and 6 RBI in 19 games.
Looking at those trades, so far, it seems that Carlos Correa is glad to be back to Houston. And Ramon Laureano does like to play in the West as he used to play for the A’s for a while. Ryan O’Hearn has shown that he can hit well in the Padres uniform as well. Nonetheless, Eugenio Suarez hasn’t contributed much thus far. With a month remaining in the 2025 season, it will be worthwhile to see whether they can hit consistently in September, in particular, will some of them make a huge impact to help their teams clinch a spot in the postseason?
