A week ago, I saw a friend’s post on X. He shared a photo of a Cal Ripken Jr. relic autograph card, which looks pretty cool. After seeing this card, I was just wondering about a thing.
Cal Ripken Jr. is certainly a legendary player of the Orioles. Known as the iron man, he holds the record for the most consecutive games played with 2632. While seeing the card, I’m just thinking about the Orioles’ players performances at the Oriole Park at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles.
To solve my doubts, I decided to check on the statcast website.
To make things easier, let’s look at the stats from 2021 to today.
Ryan Mountcastle made his MLB debut in 2020. So far, he has played 660 games for the Orioles, hitting .263/.312/.438 with 98 home runs and 364 RBI. Since 2021, he has collected 311 hits at Camden Yards. But, unfortunately, he’s still on the IL.
Gunnar Henderson made it into the big leagues in 2022. By far, he has played 600+ games for the Orioles, slashing .261/.337/.470 with 104 home runs and 305 RBI. At Camden Yards, Henderson has 309 hits thus far in his career.
In addition, Cedric Mullins played for the Orioles from 2018 to 2025. In those 8 seasons, he slashed .250/.318/.426 with 101 home runs and 327 RBI. He was traded to the Mets in July 2025. From 2021 to 2025, Mullins collected 298 hits in the Orioles uniform at the Oriole Park of Camden Yards.
Moreover, Adley Rutschman was the first overall pick in the 2019 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 2022. So far in his career, he has played 500+ games for the Orioles, hitting .254/.342/.414 with 69 home runs and 277 RBI. At home, Rutschman has 262 hits. But now, he’s on the IL.
Furthermore, Anthony Santander played for the Orioles from 2017 to 2024. In those 8 seasons, he hit .246/.307/.469 with 155 home runs and 435 RBI over 746 games. From 2021 to 2024, he collected 258 hits at Camden Yards.
Finally, Austin Hays played for the Orioles from 2017 to 2024. Well, he didn’t play in the 2018 season due to an injury. So, he actually played 7 seasons. In those 7 seasons, he played 557 games, hitting .262/.314/.433 with 66 home runs and 242 RBI. From 2021 to 2024, he had 217 hits in the Orioles uniform at home.
In Cal Ripken Jr.’s great career, he collected 675 hits at the Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Looking at these 6 seasons, Ryan Mountcastle and Gunnar Henderson each have collected 300+ hits at this ballpark. The Oriole Park at Camden Yards was officially opened in 1992. Cal Ripken Jr. used to play 10 seasons at Camden Yards. Ryan Mountcastle has played 7 seasons in the majors and Gunnar Henderson has played 5 seasons in the big leagues. If they can play 10 seasons for the Orioles, it will be very interesting to see whether they will collect more than 600 hits at Camden Yards.
