The first month of the 2025 season just came to an end. In April, several hitters were off to a great start and had played very well. And now, let’s see if there are some names that actually surprised many baseball fans.

All Rise. Aaron Judge is off to a great start. He now has a batting average over .400. In April, he collected 44 hits, leading the majors. Meanwhile, we have to take a look at Paul Goldschmidt, who’s now a teammate of Aaron Judge. Goldschmidt finished the 2024 season with an OPS below .800. He joined the Yankees last December. He did hit well in April with 37 hits. At the same time, another star in New York has played well this season. Francisco Lindor has an OPS over .800 now and in April, Lindor collected 37 hits.

Secondly, let’s take a look at the players who crushed a lot of home runs last month. Corbin Carroll was off to a slow start in 2024 and had only 1 home run last April. However, in 2025, things have dramatically changed. This April, Carroll blasted 9 home runs. At the same time, we have to look at a 3-time MVP award winner. Mike Trout isn’t playing center field anymore. This season, his stats have been quite interesting. Well, his batting average is below .200. Nevertheless, he still crushes home runs. In April, Trout smashed 9 home runs. In the meantime, Cal Raleigh smashed 9 home runs last month and 3 other players each had 8 home runs.

In addition, let’s look at which players did collect a lot of RBI in April. Pete Alonso, Alex Bregman and Teoscar Hernandez each collected 24 RBI last month. And they each owned a batting average of .330 or higher. They surely enjoyed the month of April.

Meanwhile, Spencer Torkelson was the first overall pick of the 2020 draft. He has a breakout season in 2025. He owns an OPS over .900 thus far. In April, Torkelson collected 23 RBI. Moreover, 4 other players each collected 22 RBI last month.

Finally, let’s look at the players who ran a lot in April. Elly De La Cruz certainly can run. Last year, he had 67 stolen bases. This year, he just keeps running. Last month, he stole 12 bases. Furthermore, Pete Crow-Armstrong had 27 stolen bases in 2024. In 2025, he runs even more. In April, he had 11 steals. Another player from Chicago had 11 steals last month as well. That player is Luis Robert Jr. and 2 other players each had 8 steals in April.

Looking at the first month of the 2025 season, several star players were off to a great start. The Yankees fans surely want to see Judge and Goldschmidt stay hot through the season. And the Mets would like to see Lindor and Alonso keep being productive. At the same time, Corbin Carroll’s hot start will certainly help the D-backs. Moreover, it’s always interesting to see Mike Trout’s performance. Hopefully, he won’t miss much playing time this year. Furthermore, Spencer Torkelson might surprise some fans because he finished the 2024 season with an OPS below .700. Additionally, Elly De La Cruz, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Luis Robert Jr. have shown their speed. Nonetheless, a key thing for them is to stay healthy and consistently play well in a long season. So, let’s keep watching whether they will be able to perform well in the coming months.
