It’s a sports card shop that I haven’t visited for quite a while. Well, as I remember that the last time I went there was some time before the covid-19 pandemic. I used to go there several times.

Last month, I was just thinking if I should visit that card shop again. These years, I still follow the news about that card shop and I know that it went through some reconstructions.

Eventually, I got some time to visit that card shop. Indeed, it looks new and there is more space in the card shop. When I went there several years ago, there wasn’t enough space.
When I entered the card shop, there were many collectors. I checked the products carefully. Well, things have changed. Previously, I used to buy hobby packs there. Now, there are only boxes available. In the end, I decided to buy a blaster box of the 2025 Topps Allen and Ginter.
And, let’s look at what I got.

Base cards: Lou Gehrig, Ichiro, Yordan Alvarez, Clayton Kershaw, Buster Posey, Julio Rodriguez, Jackson Chourio, Corey Seager, Juan Soto, Christian Yelich, Aaron Judge, Manny Machado, Jacob deGrom, Luis Robert Jr., Yu Darvish, Don Mattingly, Paul Molitor, Carlton Fisk, Druski, Livvy Dunne, Giancarlo Stanton, Brandon Coleman, Peter Weber

Rookie cards (3): Jace Jung, Michael McGreevy, DJ Herz

Short prints (3): Hideo Nomo, Mike Mussina, Bruce Sutter

Foil Filagree (2): Mick Abel (RC), Chandler Simpson (RC)

Sweet Victory (4): Jonah Heim, Chris Sale, Mark McGwire, Kirby Puckett

Wicked Curve (4): Barry Zito, CC Sabathia, John Smoltz (2)

Chrome: Cara Maria Sorbello

Mini (3): Max Muncy (RC), Luisangel Acuna (RC), Jorge Posada

Mini A&G Back (2): Satchel Paige, Denzel Clarke (RC)

Mini Black Border (2): Emma Roberts, Goose Gossage (SP)

Light the night: Mission Point Lighthouse
In this value box, I found 2 cards that look cool to me. The first one is a Clayton Kershaw base card and the other is Hideo Nomo short print. As a Dodgers fan, it’s always good to add Kershaw cards into the collection. Moreover, Hideo Nomo is an important player in franchise history.
In addition, I found 2 foil filagree cards. As I checked the odds, it’s not common to find a filagree card in a value box. I found 2 this time and both cards are rookie cards. That looks fun for sure.
However, a weird thing is that there are 2 John Smoltz wicked curve inserts. There must be some problems.
As such, the result of this blaster box isn’t as good as the previous one. I found a hit last time. Nonetheless, it’s a blaster box. I understand the odds.
For me, I’m glad to visit that shop again and it’s great to meet some collectors that I never met before there.
