The Boston Red Sox have played very well after the All-Star break. I’ve watched several games of the Red Sox and they look quite different from the first half of the 2026 season. To make things easier, I looked back at the stats from 2021 to 2025. Well, Alex Bregman played for the Red Sox in 2025. From 2021 to 2024, he collected 34 hits against the Red Sox. His batting average against the Red Sox was over .390 in those 4 seasons.
Meanwhile, Yordan Alavrez is one of the most dangerous hitters in the majors. So far this season, he has an OPS over 1.000. He missed some playing time in 2025 and didn’t play against the Red Sox. From 2021 to 2024, he did hit well against the Red Sox with a batting average of .370. He collected 30 hits and 7 of them were home runs.
In addition, Ramon Urias played for the Orioles from 2020 to 2025. In July 2025, he was traded to the Astros. Over the last 5 seasons, Urias collected 50+ hits against the Red Sox.
Moreover, Teoscar Hernandez played for the Blue Jays from 2017 to 2022. In 2023, he played for the Mariners. Since 2024, he has played for the Dodgers. From 2021 to 2025, he collected 55 hits against the Red Sox and owned a batting average over .340. Among those 55 hits, 10 were home runs.
Furthermore, let’s take a look at 2 players from the Guardians. Steven Kwan made his MLB debut in 2022. From 2022 to 2025, he collected 34 hits against the Red Sox and had a batting average of .333. Additionally, Jose Ramirez is now the most important player in the Guardians. From 2021 to 2025, he collected 39 hits against the Red Sox and 9 of those hits were home runs. Over the last 5 seasons, Ramirez had a batting average of .320 against the Red Sox.
As we can see, from 2021 to 2025, among the players who had at least 100 plate appearances against the Red Sox, 6 players had a batting average of .320 or higher. They certainly know how to hit against the Red Sox. Also, if we look at xwOBA, Alex Bregman,Yordan Alvarez, Teoscar Hernandez and Jose Ramirez each had an xwOBA over .380. They truly made solid contact against the Red Sox. In particular, Yordan Alvarez had an xwOBA of .486 against the Red Sox over the last 5 seasons. That surely shows that it’s tough for the Red Sox pitchers to face him.
